Birthdays: Happy Birthday to:

PTO Announcements:

  •

Celebrations:

  • Penny Wars was a huge success!  Our tiny school raised $1200.00!!! All of our proceeds are going to help Carver Elementary School rebuild their library that was lost in Hurricane Laura.  Thanks to everyone for Lighting the Way with kindness and generosity.

  • A huge “Thank You!” to our school families, the Harkers Island Community and everyone who went to Seaside on Tuesday night and contributed to our Spirit Night.  We raised $370 dollars and I will go to a beautification project that we have been wanting to do for a long time.  Stay tuned.  Special thanks to Seaside!!

Other General Reminders:

  • The CCPS School Board decided that CCPS will begin Plan A on October 19 which allows students to return to school 5 days or choose to remain 100% virtual.

  • The full presentation outlining the details are on the CCPS website linked here.

  • We understand that this decision may impact what you and your family decide about school.

  • We will NOT re-survey everyone.

  • We are going to assume that if your child attends school two days a week in either Cohort A or B, they will come F2F five days a week starting October 19 with the same transportation needs.

  • If this is NOT the case, please let us know ASAP

  • We will be contacting the 100% virtual families individually on Monday.

  • We need to have all changes documented by Friday, October 2 at the very latest.  Sooner is better so we can plan a seamless transition.

  • Also, if you have any questions, please give us a call.

Birthdays: Happy Birthday to:  Liam Riley on Monday, Riley Loftis on Thursday, Mrs. Chelsea on Thursday

PTO Announcements:

  •

Celebrations:

  • Penny Wars was a huge success!  Our tiny school raised $1053.54!!! All of our proceeds are going to help Carver Elementary School rebuild their library that was lost in Hurricane Laura.  Thanks to everyone for Lighting the Way with kindness and generosity.  Oh, Kindergarten raised the most and will get a pizza party. But the whole school did so well, we will all have a treat to celebrate this kindness!!

Other General Reminders:

  • Parent tutorial links were added to our website under the Parent Resources tab.  These are helpful How-to’s for Dojo, Seesaw, Google Classroom and many more digital tools.  Check it out.

  • Don’t forget about PE!!  2-5 students should have joined Mrs. Ashley’s Google classroom by now and doing the fun activities on the days in which you are not in school.  We will work toward posting videos and pictures. K-1 you have a calendar of activities in your take-home packets.  Stay active!!

  • VERY IMPORTANT!  Please contact your child’s teacher or the office if you do not have internet access at your home.  We can help and will help, we just need to know where we can help.  Thanks

  • Accountability: I just want to stress the importance of staying plugged in to your work.  This is different than last year after March 13.  Learning is a must!  All work is expected to be completed just like you were in real class.  Not optional.  Grades will be taken.  We want to see you all GROW!!

  • Don’t forget to check in every day for attendance purposes, too.  We thank you for your consideration for our teachers, as well.  They are stretched very thin with planning lessons for three different groups, assessments, posting assignments, videoing lessons, google meets, etc.  Grace and Mercy!

  • School pictures coming up on Friday, Sept 18 for Cohort B and Monday, Sept 21 for Cohort A.  Virtual students will be taken on Friday the 18th also.  Please come at 8:30.

  • Reminder about remote lunches:  Pick-up time is 10:30-11:15.  Mondays for Cohort B and Wednesdays for Cohort A.  These free meals are for remote learning days.
