UNC's Institute of Marine Sciences researchers (Joel Fodrie and Matt Kenworthy) shared their field research with Harkers Island 8th grade students as they guided them through the estuarine ecology in Middle Marshes. Attendance Policy

Students have 2 days after an absence to bring in a valid excuse note. After 2 days, the absence will remain Unexcused.
TARDIES: After the 4th unexcused tardy, the student will have closed lunch. After the 5th, the student will be assigned after school detention.

6th Grade Immunizaton Requirement

Adolescents are required to receive one dose of Tdap vaccine before entering the 6th grade if five or more years have passed since their last dose of tetanus-containing vaccine. Link
