Principal's Message for the Week of 11.20.17

Announcements for the Week of November 20, 2017

Good Morning, this is Jessica Burroughs the Principal of Harkers Island with the announcements for the coming weeks. This announcement can also be located on the school website on the main page.

Week Events:

For the week of November 20th:

  • Wednesday the 22nd is a half day for students, with the student day ending at 12:00
  • Thursday – Friday there is no school due to the holiday

For the week of November 27th:

  • Wednesday the 29th we will be taking class pictures for our school holiday card.  Students are invited to dress in holiday themed clothing including hats, headbands, etc. to help make the pictures festive.
  • Friday the 1st is a half day for students because HIES hosts the Decoy Festival for the weekend.  Students need to be picked up by 12:00.

Art Work:

Ms. Bryant, our art teacher, has been hanging student art work around the county.  Be sure to check it out at the SECU in Beaufort and the Community Theater in Morehead.

Decoy Festival:

Thank you for your support of this amazing weekend.  We are still collecting donations of cool whip and vanilla wafers.  The class that sells the most Decoy Raffle tickets will get a PTO sponsored pizza party.

Collecting Clothing

We are collecting new packages of underwear for our kindergarten age and first grade age students as well as gently used shirts and shorts/pants.  These items will be used for emergency purposes when students have an accident and we cannot get ahold of a parent.  We are also collecting baby wipes.  Please drop off donations in the main office.

Follow HIES on Twitter @HIESPrincipal and/or on our main website.

If you have any questions please call the Front Desk at 252-728-3295. This message has been posted on the school website for your reference.
