Prinicpal's Message for the Week of 03.05.18

Announcements for the Week of March 5th, 2018

Good Morning, this is Jessica Emory the Principal of Harkers Island with the announcements for the coming weeks. This announcement can also be located on the school website on the main page.



Week Events:

For the week of March 5th:

  • This week is Severe Weather Awareness Week.  We will be practicing a Tornado Drill during the week.
  • Thursday the 8th is an Early Release Day with the student day ending at 12:00.
  • Friday the 9th is PTO organized Bingo starting at 6:00.  Check out the flier or call the school for more information.

For the week of March 12th:

  • 5th grade will have their ELA Check-In test this week.

Make-Up Snow Days:

  • Snow day January Thursday the 4th:  make-up day January 25th
  • Snow day January Friday the 5th: make-up day April 5th
  • Snow day January Monday the 8th: make-up day April 6th
  • Snow day January Thursday the 18th: no make-up day announced yet
  • The 30th of March has been turned into an Early Release Day.

Pastries with the Principal:  We had our first Pastries with the Principal meeting in January.  We discussed the building projects, snow make-up days, and volunteerism.  Here are the dates for the remainder of the year.  If there is interest in a 4:30 pm meeting time please email Ms. Emory (jessica.emory@carteretk12.org) and given enough interest she will host an am and pm session.
