Students have 2 days after an absence to bring in a valid excuse note. After 2 days, the absence will remain Unexcused.
TARDIES: After the 4th unexcused tardy, the student will have closed lunch. After the 5th, the student will be assigned after school detention.

Other General Reminders:  

 

  • Coin Drive last week sponsored by PTO was a huge success.  We raised $665.93!!  Thank you all so much for being so generous.  All proceeds will go to make sure everyone is able to purchase a book from the book fair.  The class who raised the most and gets a pizza party is……3rd grade !!  over $200!!

  • 2 Weeks!  Ice Cream will be coming to our cafeteria for a la carte.  Prices range for $.75 to $1.00 and must be paid with funds in the lunch account.  No Cash.  

  • Book Fair - March 21-25 - The book fair will be open daily from 8:30 - 11:30.  Kids will preview on Monday and shop on T - F.  Thanks to those parents who have volunteered to help run the shop.

  • Thursday night - March 24 - Parent Night - everyone is invited.  From 6:00-6:45, we will have a hotdog dinner and floating games and activities.  At 6:45, we will gather and have a special announcement and family activity.  Please come if you can!!

  • Carteret Children's Clinic is providing weekly grief counseling at Otway Christian Church starting April 4 at 4:30 and 6:00 - dinner provided. Please call Mrs. Lindsay here at school for more information.  

  • FYI - Our EOG testing schedule is on the calendar.  We will administer 5th Grade Science on Friday, May 20 - 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Reading on Tuesday, May 24 - and 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Math on Thursday, May 26.  Make-ups will be on Friday, May 27.

  • The 6th Annual Core Sound Run will be held on Saturday, April 2.  Bring in forms in Monday!!

  • Bus behavior has greatly improved lately!  I am so proud and feel better about our kids having a safe ride to and from school.  Thanks parents, for your support and let’s continue!!

  • We will be collecting tennis balls and oyster shells all year this year.  Please bring some if you can.

DONATION STATION

If you would like to help, here are a few ways.

 

1. Donate STEM supplies.  We are always accepting items to build stuff with:  pipe cleaners, popsicle sticks, toothpicks, dowel rods, bins for storage, blocks, cups, ziplock bags, cardboard, paper towel rolls, Legos, etc.

2. Game system (like Nintendo, X-box, Playstation) for our PBIS reward room!

3. Plants and soil for our sign.
